Guidelines for Application

The Transnational Access programme poses certain restrictions upon the eligibility of users, defined in Article 16.1 of the Horizon 2020 Grant Agreement. Please check thoroughly the eligibility criteria before applying to RADNEXT TA.

I. Description of the project

Give a brief overview of the proposal, including the type of test, e.g.:

  • Single Event Effects Testing of Electronic Components …
  • Other Radiaton Effects Tests on Electronic Components (TID, TNID…)
  • Board or System Level Testing …
  • Dosimeter and Monitor Characterization …

Describe the scientific and technical aspects of the project in the three sections. The text should be limited to 750 words.
Excellence: scientific and/or technical objective(s) of the tests; state of the art of technology/test methods; scientific and/or technical objective(s) of the test.
Impact: impact of results on the reference scientific and technological community.
Implementation: test vehicles and setups (e.g. schematic drawing of related test instrumentation, without entering into all technical details); experimental work plan; beam requirements (e.g. particle species, energy, flux, fluence, beam size and homogeneity), including justifications for the beam requirements; schedule requirements; setup readiness; preferred irradiation time window; specific safety issues or risk hazards.
Add figures and/or references if necessary.

II.

Include a list of 2-3 relevant publications of the user group members (optional)

III. Access requested under TA Programme

List in the tables the team leader and all users part of the team who will be participate in the test at the facility

The proposal evaluation by the USP will be based on scores assigned to the three “Project description” sections: 10 points are the maximum score for each of the Excellence, Impact and Implementation sections.

For any further information or questions, please contact radnext-ta@cern.ch

IV. Reports, publications, presentations and data collected through RADNEXT TA Programme

When preparing Transnational Access (TA) report and publication, presentation or other materials with data collected in the framework of RADNEXT TA Programme, please follow the instructions and recommendations listed in Guidelines for Users and Authors

V. Contact and help

The User Support Expert (USE) team can provide technical support for users regarding beam time proposals and experiments.
Please contact them via radnext-use@cern.ch .

! Note to users:

  • The user group leader needs to sign a confirmation of beamtime/irradiation time, at the end of the experimental activity.
  • The user group leader needs to complete a TA summary report.
  • The user group needs to disseminate the results generated under the project. All publications should include the following acknowledgement:
